If you’re finally tired of that tired feeling, it might be time for you to give your system the reboot with a juice cleanse! I know as well as the next person though, that I sometimes set myself up for failure when going on one. I’ll either pick a terrible time or not go into it with the right intention. I’m here to give you 5 tips that will help you stay strong and get the most benefits out of your journey.
Timing is EVERYTHING on a cleanse! If you have a dinner scheduled with friends this weekend, then JUST SAY NO to thinking you have the will power of staying strong through it. Now, don’t get me wrong, you might could make it, but why make your journey even harder than it already is! CLEAR THAT SCHEDULE!
Preparing for the cleanse is just as important as the cleanse itself. Preferably, your body needs two full days of a mostly raw food diet, before and after you start your juice cleanse. This allows your body to fully digest any other foods that might have been eaten before the actual cleanse. Since your body spends around 30% of its energy on digestion, a clean stomach allows it to redirect that energy spent on digestion and use it towards healing the body by flooding it with the vitamins and nutrients of the juices!
DRINK YOUR WATER! If you don’t have a juice in your hand, you better have a water! Most of your toxins will be eliminated through your urine, so drinking a gallon of water a day with the cleanse is recommended! Also, starting your day with 32 oz. of warm lemon water gets your body’s pH level up and ready to go as well.
If you can, grab a friend or three! The more support you have the better and having someone that will hold you accountable besides yourself always helps! It doesn’t hurt that its also a pretty legit bonding experience!
Going on a cleanse is all mental. Your body is easily able to survive on the juices given on a juice cleanse. It’s when we start to show symptoms of detoxing like fatigue, that we make ourselves believe that we can’t make it. I’m here to tell you, YOU CAN DO IT! Sure, your body is going to hurt and you’re gonna wanna quit. However, those symptoms are caused by toxins being released in your blood stream and until you pass them, you have to be mentally strong enough to stick it out! Once again, YOU CAN DO IT!
